Paso Robles Wine Country is an American Viticultural Area located in the San Luis Obispo County, California. It has approximately 40,000 vineyard acres planted with wine grapes, and is well known for its heritage varietal Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Rhône-style wines.
Paso Robles, or Pass of the Oaks, western boundary is just six miles from the Pacific Ocean. On the east side it’s boundary line is made by the Santa Lucia coastal mountains.
The terroir is unique in the predominance of desirable calcareous soils found throughout the region. This soil, along with the ideal climate and cooling winds from the Pacific Ocean, provides an optimal growing condition for growing premium and ultra-premium wines.
